We give impartial information, advice and guidance to refugees and asylum seekers looking for employment, training or voluntary work, including:

  • help with applications
  • CV writing
  • interview techniques
  • Support with securing funding for ILETS &Vocational course fees

We also aim to raise awareness amongst employers of refugees' right to work in the UK and recognition of qualifications gained abroad.

Our projects:

Steps into work is funded by Loundon Councils and supports refugees who are residents of Kingston and Sutton and unemployed for at least 1 year.

It is designed to give choices and help participants to achieve their employment goals via the following options:

  • 6 information, advice & guidance sessions (12 if homeless)
  • Volunteering placement
  • Work experience placement
  • Further education or training
  • Gaining a career direction

RAISE - Refugee advice information & support into employment funded by Big Lottery (Building Better Opportunities)

The programme focuses on careers guidance and offers;

  • IELTS (international English language testing system) - 4 week course to help prepare for university
  • 4 week pre-entry ESOL
  • Bespoke vocational workshops, covering areas of employment in the UK.  Including, Terms & conditions of employment, Health & Safety, PAYE, Customer Service and UK labour market trends
