Do you want to work with Children in a fun play setting?
Are you looking for some hands-on and active work experience over the Summer Holiday?
Do you want to support local refugee children and families?
Why not join Refugee Action Kingston's Summer Playscheme and get some great experience supporting young children. The program is still being planned but activities in previous years have included local trips, including bowling, cinema and a Thames boat trip. You'll help staff and join in with creative and sports activities and help children have a fun and memorable time!
No experience necessary just a strong commitment, reliability and outgoing attitude.
The playscheme runs for 2 weeks, however we encourage anyone to apply even if you can't do the full period.
This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:
- Teaching and coaching
- Caring / Befriending
Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:
Volunteers must attend an RAK Induction and training session prior to the Summer Playscheme.
All volunteers working with children will be asked if they are prepared to have a DBS check in accordance with national policy.
Essential: Reliable, committed, interested to work with children and youth work, outgoing, fun, responsible and mature.
Desirable: Has experience of working with children and has an interest in issues that affect refugees and asylum seekers.
