Refugee Action Kingston was established in 1991 and based in the London Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames. The charity plays a significant role in bringing positive change to refugees and asylum seekers through its high quality services. These include: advising and empowering refugees and asylum seekers towards building fulfilled and independent lives through skills development, advice, counselling, and assistance in access to services and employment. In addition the charity provides advice and advocacy on the asylum process.
We are looking for a Director with experience of a leadership position ideally in the charity sector to lead a small team of 16 staff and over 80 volunteers who deliver our frontline services. As well as being a passionate leader with a strong commitment to and understanding of the welfare of asylum seekers and refugees, the ideal candidate should have a proven track-record in managing and empowering people, developing change strategies, securing funding, and working collaboratively and strengthening relationships with funders, collaborators, networks and a range of other stakeholders.
The Director will be a strategic thinker who will work with trustees to address the key priorities of quality, efficiency and sustainability. They will have ultimate responsibility for setting and delivering the organisation’s operations and its strategic objectives ensuring good governance and financial sustainability.
