Supplementary school tutor vacancy
Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is an independent charity advising and supporting asylum seekers and refugees in the Kingston and neighbouring areas.
Building on the success of our small volunteer led after school homework club we now have funding for a bigger project in Kingston.
We are looking to recruit an energetic, enthusiastic practitioner to deliver the support to Primary and Secondary aged children assisted by a team of volunteer tutors.
We are looking for an experienced person with a passion for supporting refugee children.
Working with parents we will also aim to increase their confidence to support their children by engaging with their children’s schools and gaining a better understanding of life in the UK.
The post holder will have safeguarding responsibility and we will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau and we will need to have information from you regarding any previous, existing or pending convictions or cautions.
Contract term: fixed term contract until July 2019
Hours: 5 hours per week.
Term time: 1 afternoon a week plus up to 10 additional holiday activities
